Whole Body Intelligence - what is it?

Is your body intelligent? Yes, of course it is. From your little finger to your big toe, every cell, every sinew and every muscle has its own form of intelligence, answerable to the command centre, which is your brain. Every time you want to carry out even the simplest task, like turning the page of a book you’re reading or drinking a glass of water, you still originate a thought at the command centre - your brain. Your brain makes a decision as to what message needs to be sent, and to where, for the task to be successfully carried out. Your body and mind always operate together. The one influences the other. Without your mind, your body has no idea what to do or how to behave. Without your body to respond to its commands, your mind is a master without a servant to command.

How does it work?
Whole Body Intelligence is a method of ensuring that your mind and body continually work in harmony with each another. Take a look at a video of an inexperienced presenter delivering a speech. Now compare it with a clip from a film starring a top screen actor like Kevin Spacey. What do you notice?

  • The person unused to public scrutiny suddenly finds that his or her voice and body simply don’t respond the way they’d like them to.
  • A star performer, like Kevin Spacey, has complete mastery over every part of his body, as well as every modulation of his voice. He’s an exponent of Whole Body Intelligence – something that can be broken down into three integral parts:

1) Whole Body Thinking – helps you to maintain a constant awareness of all the parts of your body and allows your thoughts to control every part of you at will.

2) Whole Body Breathing – helps you to have vital control over your voice. It also powers up your mind and body by pumping maximum oxygen around your system. This promotes a dynamism that is part of ‘star quality’.

3) Whole Body Movement – taking care of the whole body, not just a part of it. How you treat your body is a reflection of how your body will treat you. Enjoy exercise, a sport like tennis, golf or swimming. Listen to how your body actually seems to enjoy these activities.

It all adds up to – Whole Body Intelligence, which creates a charismatic personality, one that exudes sureness, confidence and clarity.
