English is the language of the Internet, aviation and very often business. It is one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet and yet many of us experience difficulty with it. If we are native English speakers we often experience serious difficulty in understanding those from another part of the world who seek to communicate with us in our native language. Conversely, those visiting Britain on business or accepting a post here are often horrified to find that, although they can read and write English quite well, making themselves properly understood with spoken English is not nearly as easy as they had anticipated.  Having travelled widely in many countries and with a background as an actor in TV and film, I’ve spent a lifetime studying the way people form the sounds in their native language compared with standard English. I have thus been able to help people from China, Japan, India, Eastern, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa to acquire a more English voice, one that has proved invaluable to them in dealing with their British counterparts.
